Handcrafted by artisans from the Tharu tribe. These chapatti boxes are made from Munj grass (Saccharum munja) which grows in the arid regions, alongside the banks of the river Ganga in Uttarakhand. One the most nutritious and drought tolerant grass species, the fiber of munj grass is perfect for making ropes, baskets and coaster.
Tharu tibe is an ethnic group of people, indigenous to the Terai and the Northern part of India. The rare artistic skills of the Tharu artisans have been employed to make these exquisite handicraft pieces without using any nail or metal wires. It will keep your Rotis warm and your environment pollution free.
